We are experiencing some problems with our support address <support@hpc2n.umu.se> at the moment. This seems to be SNIC wide and they are working on it. This news item will be updated when more information is available.

Update 2017-11-15 14:20

Problem should be solved now and it should be possible to send in support problems to our support address again.

HPC2N Open House with Kebnekaise Celebration

High Performance Computing Center North cordially invites you to participate in the celebration of Kebnekaise, the latest HPC2N supercomputer system. The morning program offers a tutorial and the afternoon program includes presentations by scientists using Kebnekaise, a poster session, and the more formal celebration of Kebnekaise.

The procurement of Kebnekaise was made possible through a grant from both the Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing (SNIC) and Umeå University.

Today, 2017-10-18 13:40, we switched over the software stack on Kebnekaise to one that has been rebuilt from scratch.

All user level codes and most libraries and helper programs have been rebuilt from scratch.

We have tried to make sure nothing used by our users is missing, but should any job fail due to missing libraries or similar, please make sure to notify support@hpc2n.umu.se immediately and we will fix the problem.

Computational Chemistry - MD Simulations (NAMD)

This one day course is an introduction to Computational Chemistry and MD Simulations, with half of the time dedicated to running NAMD at HPC2N. There will be a hands-on.

Participation is free. Bring your laptop for the hands-on!

The hands-on will be done on HPC2N's systems, so you will need to have an account at HPC2N (or create one when added to the course project) in order to participate in that part.

Lunch and afternoon coffee will be provided.
